Little Moments| Viroqua Wisconsin Photographer | Personal Post

Today I’m going to get a little personal. I’m realizing that our baby girl may be our last baby. We haven’t exactly made a decision on whether or not she is BUT the thought of it is making me realize more and more that the little moments in each and every single day are really the biggest moments.

Sometimes life becomes difficult and it passes us by, especially when trying to find a balance in everything. Work. Family life. Children’s events. Your spouse. The list goes on. We get caught up with everything going on that we forget to stop and take in each moment.  The little moments when your child just looks up at you and their dimples show from that big grin on their face.

Being a mother is hard. Being a mother is worth it. It’s so exhausting but it is SO rewarding. Teaching them. Them teaching you. It’s time to slow down and savor each and every second with them. Before I know it my babies are going to be in my position – married with children and a life that flies by so fast.

Capture each moment with them, but don’t forget to get in the frame. They will thank you later in life for doing so. It’s not about what you look like. What you are wearing. It’s about the love you show them. It’s about the love they feel.

It’s about letting them sit with you when they want to – with no reason at all – just because.  Telling them you love them out of the blue. Letting them know you care. The little things – little moments in time will make the biggest impression on them.

I am no perfect parent. I yell. I blow up quickly at times. I feel horrible when I do – but that doesn’t mean I don’t love them. They may not always understand why I get upset at them, heck, sometimes I don’t even know. But it makes me human. It lets them know that I’m not always the happy mommy, the mommy that is put together and calm. And that is fine by me, they learn that life isn’t always easy and nobody is perfect.

We all need time to ourselves, to take a breather.  Each and every single one of us.  I need space for myself too and I make sure to pamper myself. It makes me a better person, mother, wife, and friend.  Going to the grocery store without a child. Going to get my nails done. Since having our youngest I have realized that I need that time to myself. It’s okay to admit that we need that time to ourselves, it’s not selfish.

Take time for you and indulge in each and every little moment with your children. They cherish you no matter what.

The little moments matter the most to them.
